East Ridge is the gateway city to Tennessee on Interstate 75 North at Exit 1. It is located in the southernmost part of the state, surrounded by Chattanooga on three sides and bordering the State of Georgia to the south. It covers approximately 8.2 square miles with a population of approximately 21,000.
The location of the City makes it easily accessible to any part of Hamilton County, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama. East Ridge is the gateway city to Tennessee on I-75 north from Atlanta and parts south. If you enter East Ridge from the west at Exit 181 A on I-24, you will pass through the Bachman tunnel, which lies beneath historic Missionary Ridge, the site of a famous Civil War battle. There are also two other exits, Belvoir Avenue / Germantown Road and Moore Road, off of I-24 that makes it easily accessible to get to East Ridge.
City Hall is located on Tombras Avenue, just a few blocks from either Moore Road or Belvoire Avenue. It houses several departments including Administration, Business Licenses, Building Codes/Inspection, Court and the Library.
